Sparks are characters who have agreed to work for the Paragons. If you're familiar with teams such as Ophiuchus, Cats, Knights, Echidna, or Weeds from other games, they're similar to that.

Sparks have given their verbal consent to work for their NPC. The reason? That is up to you. Were they promised something? Given some kind of incentive? Manipulated? Threatened? No matter the reason, their consent was freely given.

There are multiple ways to become a Spark:

They were in the last cycle of people and made a deal with an NPC.

They were brought in with this current cycle and an NPC grabbed them up before they got dropped in the hospital.

They were "permakilled" in a previous cycle and the NPC offered them a second chance.

An NPC approaches a current character to become a Spark.

Sparks can help the NPC in Ceremonies or events they run, run their own little events, offer characters different missions in order to get things you can't find in the Domed City, or they can "spark" conflict.

Sparks will also participate in Ceremonies as players, though their role may vary depending on what the Ceremony is. They may be a normal participant, placed in a group to even up numbers, placed in a group with other Sparks, or even given a special role.

Which brings us to this: there are two kinds of Sparks: "bright" and "dim".

Bright Sparks assist the good NPCs. They're helpful and want to help the NPCs help the other players.

Dim Sparks assist the bad NPCs. They're there to cause chaos and help the bad NPCs in making life miserable.

With the latter, you will very likely have to navigate negative CR. Before you app, please consider if you're game for that! Please do not apply for this kind of Spark if neg CR may be a problem for you. All Sparks will be encouraged to keep in contact OOCly so that players can be on the same page!

AC for Sparks will be 30 comments, same as it is for normal players.

SPARK REASON: This is optional/easily changed in the future, but give me a brief idea of what it would take to get them to work for their NPC!

NPC: As we do not have many NPCs at the moment, for now I'll ask what type you think you would enjoy working with! We can work something out once we have more to go around.

DOUBLES?: Are you all right with someone apping a double of your character? Please let me know!

ANTI-REQUESTS: If you have a problem with a player, a type of character, or simply don't think you will mesh well with someone, please let me know. It doesn't matter how insignificant it is, if you think it will impact your fun then tell me! That way I can avoid pairing you together during Ceremonies!
