The Hotel

An old-fashioned hotel with a modern touch. The name of the hotel has been worn away by time, but the rest of it looks almost brand new.

Upon entering the hotel you're greeted with an old-fashioned check-in desk. To your left, the rooms there have been combined into one big one, with beds on one side, bunk beds on the other, and an area in the middle to mingle and relax.

To your right, a dining area and the kitchen. The kitchen has basic appliances, such as a microwave and a coffee maker.

Also to your right are the bathrooms. The showers have frosted over doors to allow for some privacy, and past those and the toilets is a large, communal bath.

Located south of Domed City Park.

The check-in desk. At any point an NPC can be found hanging out there.

Behind the desk are rows of keys, though none of them can be taken at this time. You can find paper, pens, pencils and such if you search through the drawers; it's always replenished. An old rotary phone also sits on the desk, but trying to make a call just gets you a busy signal.

The doors to either side are currently locked.

Stepping into the large communal living area, there are single beds lined up against the wall, spaced enough to give people some space. There are enough beds for everyone despite how the room looks much larger than it should be if one were to look at the hotel from the outside.

Each bed has a little nightstand next to it, with a drawer and a dim lamp on top.

The other side of the room has a similar set-up, but instead of single beds there are bunkbeds. Each one has a little shelf on the head of the bed with a little drawer there as well as a dim lamp.

In the center of the room is a living area, with plenty of comfortable couches and chairs to sit in. Against the wall closest to the exits are shelves of books, both from this world and others. Perhaps even yours.

The kitchen has the basic necessities, like a stove, a fridge, and a sink, as well as appliances such as a microwave and a coffee maker.

The cabinets shelves are stocked with basic foods, spices, and condiments. But to make anything worthwhile, you probably need to give the supermarket a visit.

The dining area has enough seating for everyone, though it seems to shrink and grow depending on necessity. There are always clean plates and glasses available.

The bathrooms each have a private door with a lock so one can't be bothered in their most vulnerable moment.

The shower doors are frosted glass in order to provide some manner of privacy. There is a shelf just out of the water where someone can put their clothes so you can get in changed in there.

At the back of the bathroom is a large, communal bath. There are a few little showering spots nearby for people to clean off before entering. The water is always warm.

Towels, shampoo, and toilet paper are provided.

The Hospital

While it's called the hospital, it's more like an urgent care building. When you step inside there's a small lobby, and past that is a large room with a number of hospital beds set up. A few have been obviously slept in, while one has a suspicious stain on it.

Located south of Domed City Park and across the street from the hotel.

(details)

There are no IV racks or machines to indicate that it ever was an actual hospital, and besides the beds it is always clean.

To the left of the lobby are a set of stairs leading to the second floor. Here, there are a number of small offices as well as a decently sized storage room. However, you can only find bandages and medicine here. It restocks every couple of days.

The Supermarket

It's a supermarket. There's still a few carts outside.

Located north of Domed City Park.

(details)

While it's a smaller supermarket, the shelves are still stocked with food, although if you take it all it will take a few days to replenish.

There is fresh fruit as well as a deli with sliced meats available . . . if you want to trust it.

Domed City #77 Central Park

The "center" of the Domed City, the park is a large, circular park that someone put a great deal of care into creating. The grass is perfectly manicured, the bushes and flowers and other plant life are carefully kept. No matter the weather outside of the park's bounds, the weather is always warm and pleasant.

In the center is a large fountain. Occasionally you can find ducks and geese wandering around it, bathing in the water. And as the sun sets the lights on top turn on, shining bright to light the entire area.

(details)

The circle on the outside is a street, acting as a roundabout to the other main streets of the city. Even here the care that went into making this park can be seen, with perfectly painted crosswalks and curb lines, grates for rain strategically placed so that the road never floods.

Along the other walkways are plenty of seating, comfortable metal benches that shine in the sun, swinging benches here and there that only creak a tiny bit when you swing on them. A garbage can is never far, in an effort to keep the area clean.

Stepping off the walkways into the grass, there's tables and benches set up, as though someone were preparing for a cookout. In another area, a blanket has been set out for a picnic.

One area is dedicated to a smaller kids park, with swings and a slide and monkey bars. Oddly, and maybe hilariously, they are built slightly bigger to accommodate bigger adults.

And of course, there's squirrels and chipmunks and birds, chirping and skittering around as animals do. Occasionally a deer may wander from out of nowhere to nibble on the bushes.

But what's odd about that is, you will never see these animals outside of the park. Huh.

The fountain in the center is no different from the rest, intricately detailed and crafted to be something people want to see, rather than merely a monument. The water is always bright and crystal clear, even with the wildlife swimming and bathing in it, and there is never a spot of dirt on it. The lights on top seem small, but at night are fully capable of lighting the entire center of the park without being too bright to look at.

Best of all, it's always peaceful. Even the ambience seems a little muted if you pay attention, as though even the volume has softened to the perfect pitch.
